I love the way it shows on the silver metallic paper from @spoonflower. It gives the background a really pretty rose gold effect. I love the work of Susan Hoeltken, a local artist I love the work of Susan Hoeltken, a local artist here in Oakville. Her work is a vibrant celebration of colour and emotion, brought to life through expressive brushstrokes and a dynamic sense of movement. Every room should start with something you love as an anchor point, maybe a fabulous piece of art, a wallpaper, a fabric. This piece titled Summer Light Show perfectly captures all the promise of summer. I can imagine enjoying the warmth of the day then waiting for the beautiful vibrant colours of this sunset as it reflects on the water. Bringing these colours together into a room or maybe a small reading nook would give you a little sunny sanctuary even in the depths of winter. My ‘Mustard Stripe’ wallpaper provides a simple backdrop bringing in some warm buttery tones of layered contrast and interest without being overpowering. Layering further with a blend of geometric shapes in the statement accent cushion and the organic heavily patterned marble of the side table. The lilac carpet with a curvaceous fluted edge adds a feminine softness against the bold angular lines of the chair. The blue fluted table lamp adds another fun element and unexpected pop of colour. For some soft cosy wall colours or contrast painted trim you could look to @BenjaminMoore’s Heirloom Gold 255 -a pale, delicately shaded golden cream and Antique Coral 1198 - a soft orange illuminated by a warm pink undertone. #TextileTuesday or maybe even #technologytuesday ? #TextileTuesday or maybe even #technologytuesday ? I recently created some custom variations for a client on a small selection of designs. We’ve changed up the colours and reduced the scale down to suit the specifics of the project. I’ve had samples printed here on a lovely fine cotton sateen, perfect for bedding, quilting or craft projects. You should know by now I love playing around with colours and textures so I’ve pulled out some coordinating colours from the Romo Linara collection. It’s the most beautiful blend of cotton and linen with the added bonus of being fully washable. Romo are celebrating 25 years of this much-loved fabric and have introduced a further 25 colours to the already vast collection. I used this frequently back in my days at John Lewis in the UK when it was first introduced.
