This architecturally interesting period home is full of eclectic and characterful pieces, a true reflection of the home owners and their family. We gave a new lease of life to both the sofa and this pretty accent chair. The 25 yr old sofa has such a good solid frame but was in need of new cushions and slip covers. The chair just needed a little TLC to the seat padding and a fresh new fabric to complement the sofa update. Refresh, renew & reupholster Patternplay Pattern Mixing

It’s a while since I’ve actually posted anything o It’s a while since I’ve actually posted anything on my grid here. The beginning of the year has bought lots of progress on client interiors projects and less in the way of personal creative endeavours. I was busy doing accounting and admin this afternoon then my mouse battery died so due to the forced break in productivity I thought I’d share my latest book acquisitions. I’d been coveting these Taschen Texile books for a very long time but managed to buy them in a recent sale and then spotted the MCM booked in pristine condition in a locked display case in Homesense. Aren’t they pretty? Anyone else got any good design book recommendations to share? I’ve been keeping a collection over on Pinterest. #designbooks #designbookshelf #artybooks
Is 2026 the year we all get more in touch with our Is 2026 the year we all get more in touch with our creativity? When the world becomes a strange and unfamiliar place I feel the need to create something, much like the 500+ masks during Covid. I don’t typically even put text on any of my posts so this is a new thing as well. For some time I’ve had a few creative projects in my head and supplies ready to go but daily work and life in general become a priority over making time for more analog activities. While I often pick up my iPad to draw I feel the need to make some tangible art. Maybe putting these things down in a post will make me more accountable and I might actually achieve these things during the year, you can check in on me, ask me how it’s going and give me the kick up the backside I need. Unfortunately my list isn’t totally analog because I do need to redesign my website to become a better reflection of what I do and who I am. That’s something else I’ve been procrastinating over for a long time because let’s face it who really wants to write about themselves, it’s not an easy thing to tackle. (Plus there is this perfectionism thing that lurks) It makes us question what we’ve done, where we’re going, what we want to achieve. How to encapsulate that all online with a digital representation of my interior design work alongside my textile and wallpaper design is the challenge. Any thoughts would be gratefully appreciated. Hopefully I can repost this periodically and some of these things will be checked off and I’ll have progress to share by the end of the year along with a beautiful new website. #oakvilledesigner #analogdesign #creativechecklist2026
